Through funding from the NSF Plant Biotic Interactions Program we will continue to understand how plant disease pressure is impacted by elevated temperature in plants. Led by Dr. Neha Potnis at Auburn University and in collaboration with researchers in the UK and Germany, we will expose pepper and tomato plants to combined Xanthomonas infection and heat stress and look at the impact of the host defense response and pathogen virulence.
